To New Traditions

Yesterday was Australia Day and traditionally we spend the morning at the beach followed hopefully by a BBQ and the fireworks at night.

This year no beach because the husband sprained his ankle, no BBQ due to sheer laziness and busyness, but we did watch the fireworks on top of a bridge, although it was so far away the lights were tiny. No firework photos but instead, car lights.

And for lunch....

Pondering

The English language is strange and full of things that contradict and don't make sense.

To extend the shelf life of meat I freeze it.
When I'm ready to cook I take it out of the freezer to defrost it.
Shouldn't the term 'defrost' really be 'defreeze' cause I 'froze' the meat not 'frosted' it??
